After years of hard work and promising results, Gilles Renmans is now gearing up to make his debut in the Ferrari Challenge Europe with Francorchamps Motors for the 2025 season. This move marks an important step in the Belgian’s young career – a journey that started back in 2020, when his father took him to the Nurburgring to partake in a test session with him. After just a few laps, Renmans immediately fell in love with racing, and decided to follow in his dad’s footsteps. He therefore entered the karting scene, where his talent quickly began to shine as he made his debut in 2022; he raced in the GK4 championship and entered the IAME World Finals at the end of the year, displaying lots of potential and setting himself up for success in 2023. As he racked up more wins and impressive performances in international karting competitions, he showed he was ready for a tougher challenge – which he decided to take on the following season.
In 2024, Renmans started his journey with Double TT Racing, Onofrio Veneziani’s management outfit in collaboration with his former driver Matteo Davenia. After meeting the team and testing with their Ferrari 488 Challenge, Renmans entered the 2024 Italian GT Sprint Championship. The Belgian had a fantsastic rookie campaign on the GT scene, taking his maiden podium finish in round two and proving to be a frontrunner regardless of the limited track time at his disposal. Despite some bad luck during the final stages – especially a double retirement in Mugello due to issues beyond his control, while he was running in the top three – he still ended the season on a great note, racing in the Endurance series for the first time and finishing in P2 in Monza after taking pole in spectacular fashion.
During the winter of 2024, Renmans also travelled to the Middle East to taste the waters of endurance racing. Competing with Speedlover’s Porsche 992 GT3 together with his dad, he qualified fourth in class at the Dubai 24 Hours, before unfortunately having to retire with 45 minutes to go due to a gearbox failure. However, the pace of the Belgian was undeniable, as he helped his team finish in the top 5 of their class at the 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi, after qualifying in fourth overall. In 2025, Renmans’ love for the prancing horse will once again shine, as he will be one of the prime candidates to watch out for ahead of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge Europe season. Renmans will create a powerful all-Belgian duo together with Francorchamps Motors, as the 23-year-old is set to compete on the biggest stage of his career so far
